Tony Hawk

I was reading the October 2010 issue of Traditional Home (yes...) and on the last page was an interview with Tony Hawk.

And one of the things he said, that really struck me was:

"I get paid extremely well to do something I would gladly do for free."

I don't think I EVER felt that way about being an engineer at Samsung. In fact, I AM SURE I never felt that way.

SO here is my attempt. To just get paid piddly beans to do something I would gladly do for free:

La Lumiere Photography. For those who know and those who do not know, I am launching my portrait photography business. It is scary. It is overwhelming. It keeps me up until 1am MANY nights.

But I love it. Even if it just pays for a special meal out every now and then. SO here I go. Wander over to my website if you like:

www.lalumierephotography.showitsite.com

The blog is still a work in progress...but I think that's how I will always be. A work in progress.

Oh wow. How far away are you from Saratoga Springs NY? A bit far... I love it. And good for you for doing something you love. And speaking of love, I love your photography endeavor's name. Everything sound so pretty in French. German is not a pretty language at all. Licht. That just sounds gross.

Dear, Phuong,
Thank you for the beautiful pictures you took of Tracy and me with our adopted son, Michael, during our trip to Paris. How much do we owe you for the pictures?
Congrats on the new business! After your company blows up in a few yrs, I'll be contacting you for a job as your assistant photog.
Brandi, you just made me think of the derelict line from Zoolander. Ha, ha!

YAY! I'm so excited for you! I have the photo you took of Eden practicing walking in London printed 8x10 in my office. LOVE IT. Even though she looks so little!

So... are you going to come up to Boston in a couple of months? Firstly, we'd like to see you, and secondly, we'd like to hire you for "big mama" pics :)!

And then you'll just have to come again in Feb/Mar for pictures of Leah if you can! Good thing there are other people you love here!
